Default How much should I charge for advertising on my blog???

I have a blog in the travel niche. The blog has PR4, on second page of google for a the keyword that is very competitive and is currently averaging just over 100 visitors a day with major improvements in the works.

I just had a company in my niche ask about sponsored posts and a banner.

I've been told the going rate for a sponsored post on a PR4 travel blog is $60 to $80 for 12 months. I offered them $50 because it would be my first IM dollar. They accepted but want a permanent post.

So first question is should I accept a permanent post for $50 or insist it stays for 12 months?

Second question is how much should I charge for different types of banners such as?
-large banner across top of blog
-medium sized banners that take up a large part of the left/right column
-small square banners that can fit two across in the left/right columns?

Really not sure what to do at this stage so any advise will be appreciated, Thanks.

Your going to need to take a look at the niche your in, your PR, how much traffic you get, then find another website that is similar and compare to what they are charging

I think it is reasonable to charge $50 a month considering the number of visitors you have.

It is always better to go for long term strategy. I would go for a year pact. This willl reduce much of your time spent on negotiating with new or old advertisers.

Have you tried to planner affiliate offers related to travel on the website before? $50 for permanent ad space seems awfully low. I think before you commit to the agreement you should use the ad-space for yourself and get a gauge no the return and from there, you should have a better gauge of what you should charge for ad space.

If you are in need of some travel related offers for the website please let me know.

Most of the corporate and affordable website design service sites are offering such sort of services, if you would really like to offer such sort of services, then best most ways to know of charging is to analyse and take a look at other competitors sites.
